Lou C’s Boutique was asked to be a participant in Reach Out to Rural Breast Cancer Survivorship Program. This is a partnership between Susan G. Komen for the Cure and UAB School of Nursing.

The purpose of this program is to determine the needs of cancer survivors and deliver education and support with the goal of improving quality of life and survivorship experience.

The program consisted of a round table discussion focusing on survivors here in Limestone County and their own personal assessments. The educational materials used in a large clinical trial will be adapted based on the outcomes of this discussion.

This information will be used to educate and help support around 60 breast cancer survivors in North Alabama.
