Alabama Veteran's Museum & Archives  is Having a Benefit Raffle for the museum by raffling an American Eagle plaque. Made in 2004 by Charles Holcomb, it consists of 77 pieces of 7 different woods. Woods are Aspen, Birch, Walnut, Basswood, Poplar, Ebony & Red Cedar. Clean up Time!
29th March Free Dump Day- On Saturday from 7:AM - 12:PM
Limestone County residents may bring a truck or trailer load of trash to the BFI Transfer Station on Highway 72 at no charge.

Athens High School Greenhouse is now open Monday – Friday 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Saturdays 9 AM to 2:00 PM. The greenhouse has started their Spring Plant Sale to include; bedding plants, vegetables, hanging baskets and 1-gallon tomatoes.

28 & 29-Mar at 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM - Consignment Sale Benefiting PAT - Shop, donate, consign or volunteer it is your choice. The sale will feature items for babies, toddlers and school-aged children. 1st April - Pulitzer Prize Winning Poet to Speak at Athens State University
Athens, Ala. -
Pulitzer Prize winning poet Natasha Tretheway will be speaking at Athens State University on Tuesday, April 1 at 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm. These events, sponsored by the Livingston Concert Lecture Series, will be held in McCandless Hall and will be offered free to the public.

Keep Athens Limestone Beautiful (KALB) Swamp John's Fish Fry is April 7th, 4-7 p.m. at the Beasley Center.  Eat in or carry out service available.  Meal includes catfish, shrimp, and/or chicken strips, fries, slaw, hushpuppies, trimmings, tea, and desserts while they last.  Tickets are $9 and available at the downtown branches of First American, Compass, and Bank Independent.  Call 233-8728 for additional information.  Support this organization and help them help keep our streets clean.

19th April, The Tour de Pig  Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. The first 100 registered riders will be guaranteed a Tour de Pig T-shirt. There are mileage options of 26 and 64; along with a 3 mile Historic downtown Athens ride suitable for the entire family. The ride will be fully supported, with aids stations set at ~12 miles apart.
