The 3rd Annual Spirit of Athens Easter Egg Hunt saw
approximately 100 little hunters to locate the
1700 Easter Eggs that were stuffed and
prepared for hunting in Saturday's Hunt
this year!
Despite the cold windy mid-morning weather, everyone was very
excited to find the prize eggs and see how many other eggs they
could find. The hunt was divided into two groups, 5 & under and
6 & over.
Hundreds of eggs were hidden by City Attorney Shane Black, City
Planner Mack Martin, Mike Lehr and a host of students taking
time from their morning to make the day for so many young
children. Even Mayor Marks was on hand to wish the eager
hunters well and after Shane Black gave the instructions, the
Easter Bunny cut the ribbon and the hunt was on!
The Easter Eggs, prizes and the Grand Prize was donated by the
area businesses. Winner of the
grand prize, Dawn Harper of Athens, received over $400 of
merchandise and certificates from downtown businesses!!
Thank you to all who helped with this community enjoyed event,
and hope to see you next year!
