New President for the Chamber of Commerce
The Greater Limestone County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the promotion of Jennifer Williamson, former Director of Membership Development, to the position of President of the Chamber of Commerce. This promotion fills the vacancy created by the recent retirement of the past president, Hugh Ball.
Mrs. Williamson is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration - Finance. She is a resident of Athens and is married to Dr. Andy Williamson who is a dentist in the Athens area.
Since graduation, Mrs. Williamson has worked for a commercial insurance firm in Birmingham and was later employed by a non-profit autism center in the Birmingham area. In October of 2009, she joined the staff of the Athens-Limestone Family Resource Center in Athens as Community Development Director. She served in that position until January of 2011 when she joined the Greater Limestone County Chamber of Commerce staff as Director of Membership Development.
Melissa Walker, Chairman of the Chamber Board of Directors, stated "Jennifer has performed admirably in her position at the Chamber having managed and expanded key Chamber programs as well as the Chamber membership." Mrs. Walker further stated "The Directors of the Chamber Board are very pleased to offer this position to a current dedicated employee who has demonstrated both the ability to manage and a passion for community service."
