Limestone County Mustang Club Donates to Veterans

Our local Limestone County Mustang Club presented a check for $150 from their club members to Sandy Thompson Director of the Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives after the Veterans Day parade on Saturday.

The Club is community minded, "we want to help support local groups in Athens and Limestone County. Being that we have a few club members who are veterans, we decided to give to this cause," said Robert Herring, club member and photographer.

Limestone County Mustang club organized in May 2010 with Joseph Scott as club president. Their purpose of this local car club is for the enjoyment of the American car known as the Ford Mustang (1964 ½ - Present). They want to help promote the restoration, preservation, and enjoyment of all Mustangs and serve as a source of information and knowledge to all owners in our area! This is a family-oriented club that will help promote and participate in various local events, including car shows, cruises, and community events.

The club won the Club Participation award this year at the 2011- 31st Rocket City Mustang Show at Sears!!
They hold a Fall Cruise In at McClary Ford in Athens, AL in October each year. They also meet on the 1st Thursday of every Month at Sweet Pepper's Deli in Athens. Learn more about the Mustang Club on Facebook (search
