Sean Covey with Mayor Ronnie Marks

“This is an exciting event, and we appreciate Athens State hosting it and bringing people to our city,” Mayor Ronnie Marks said. “This site sold out first, even beating San Antonio, which sold out second.”

Athens State President Bob Glenn told attendees that the university trains its students in Leader in Me so that they are equipped with the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People when they enter the workforce.

The Leader in Me program trains educators to inspire and teach their students to be leaders.

Sean Covey will speak to the attendees this afternoon. Covey is senior vice president of innovations and products at FranklinCovey and is the author of “7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens.”
