Jessica's Tea Party
Jessica Elkins’ Live, Laugh,
Love Memorial Scholarship and Meningitis
Awareness Fund

The Jessica Elkins' Live, Laugh, Love Memorial Scholarship and Meningitis Awareness Fund.
Jessica’s Tea Party on October 1st is a time to
celebrate life while raising money for the
Meningitis Awareness Fund at the Beasley Center
in Athens.
Tickets for the event are $20 for chicken salad
plates and $10 for peanut butter and jelly
plates.
Guests are encouraged to wear their finest hats,
gloves, scarves, pearls and other fancy tea
party attire.
Organizers are looking for individuals or groups
of girlfriends who will be willing to create
Table-scapes for Jessica’s Tea Party. According
to organizers, any type of decorations would be
welcome — beautiful fresh flowers in elegant
vases and silver appointments or even teddy
bears and friends gathered together for a
morning snack. Organizers hope to have 30,
primarily round, tables decorated for the event.
The following are guidelines for table-scapes
and items needed for each table:
• Tablecloth. A cloth, not plastic, tablecloth
is requested. This can also be a quilt, etc.
• Centerpiece. Be creative. Think fresh flowers
and elegant, a garden look, or childish with
stuffed animals, miniature tea set, etc., all
gussied up for little girls. Candles are always
a nice touch.
• Dishes needed. Eight plates, eight napkins,
eight silverware, eight glasses and two pitchers
are needed. This can be from your china
collection or all different patterns that look
as if you’ve pulled dishes from your
grandmother’s attic. Note: Food will be served
on clear plastic plates on top of your dishes to
help prevent the chance of any damage. Two
pitchers are needed for tea and ice water to be
self-served from each table. (Two to four per
table. No plastic pitchers.)
