House Concert February 15, 2011

Athens, Alabama - The Athens Visitors Center is pleased to announce
their 2011 House Concert featuring David Grier and Matt Flinner on
February 15, 2011 at 7:00pm. This intimate engagement will be hosted at
the Visitors Center located at 100 Beaty Street North. This will not
only be an opportunity to enjoy the music but you can meet and talk with
the musicians as well as enjoy the marvelous ambiance of building.
The concert will feature the talents of David Grier and Matt Flinner.
These talented gentlemen will amaze and please you with a variety of
tunes and miraculous picking moves.
David
Grier is known for his emotive yet inventive mastery of the guitar.
David entangles his listeners and delights them with his uncanny ability
to produce an experience that leaves them astounded and wondering if
it’s truly possible for one man and guitar to create. Even actor Martin
Mull has spoken of David's amazing and uncanny ability to move his
audience emotionally and leaving them in awe.
Matt Flinner has made a career out of playing acoustic music in new
ways. Starting out as a banjo
prodigy who was playing bluegrass festivals before he entered his teens,
Flinner later took up the mandolin, won the National Banjo Competition
in Winfield, KS in 1990, and won the mandolin award there the following
year. He moved to Nashville in 1999 and is now widely considered one of
the hottest and most creative mandolin players on the acoustic scene.
A limited number of tickets are available at the Athens Visitors Center
for $20.00. Tickets may be purchased with a credit card by calling

price. This event is hosted by the Athens-Limestone Tourism Council,
Greater Limestone County Chamber of Commerce.
