It appeared everyone
was on vacation at this month's Coffee Call. There was still
a good crowd but we were missing many people.
This month's Coffee
was sponsored by Kristie and Robert Valls. Kristie has
opened her law practice on the downtown square, we look
forward to seeing her around town.
Mr. Calendar
celebrated his 91st Birthday with us on June 4th, Mr.
Calendar was at Pearl Harbor and attends the Coffees as
often as he can. He lives in Madison and even still
drives himself to the Museum.
Author of 'When
Winning Was Everything', Delbert Reed was at the Museum to
sign his book about Alabama football during WWII. The book is about how many of the
college students & coaches at Alabama were called to the
war.
The Museum had a very
busy month, school groups from Brookhill's 4th grade, Athens
Elementary 3rd grade, 49 Home Schooled students and the Crye
Leike Realtors had a luncheon.
Mr. JD Jones was back
at the Museum Saturday after having open heart surgery a few
weeks ago, He seemed to be doing very well, just a little
low on energy. Wendell Powers has been absent from the
Museum, he had been in the hospital with ulcers and gout,
but he too is on the mend.
