October's Coffee Call was sponsored by
Grover and Rose Gardner who were celebrating their Anniversary
this month.
Bob Smaltz, museum employee who sets
up, prepares and purchases the items for Coffee Calls (and has
many other duties at the museum) will be retiring October 8th.
Bob has been an employee of the Museum for many years starting
as a Tarcog employee then hired by the Museum as part-time.
Smaltz has performed duties above and beyond his job
description, he always has a friendly smile and kind words for
everyone. He will be greatly missed but hopes to come in as a
volunteer for tours.
Attending the November Coffee Call will
be General Richard F. Formica, commander of the Space and
Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command. The
Veterans Day Parade will also be on the same day at 11:AM. Come
for breakfast and stay for the parade, make a day visiting our
beautiful downtown and visiting the museum.
December's Coffee will have a book
signing by Margret Mefford. Margret's book, "Journey to Freedom"
is a collection of 10 true life experiences of WWII Germany as
remembered by the children who lived the horrific war. A
beautifully written book of how the war changed the lives of
everyone in this war.
