November Coffee Call was sponsored by
Jimmy Smith Buick-GMC of Athens. Jimmy and his son
Austin Smith attended the coffee and were proud to be
this months sponsor to honor our Veterans.
There was a record number of guest,
235 attended this month's Coffee! Special Guest
speaker General Richard Formica and his wife Diane
attended with Col. Daniel J. Shanahan. Afterwards the
guest were invited to participate in the Athens Veterans
Day Parade.
Lt. Gen.
Richard P. Formica is the commander of the Army Space
and Missile Defense Command at Redstone Arsenal. He and
his wife Diane have four children
and five grandchildren.
Col. Daniel J. Shanahan has 28 years of
service to the U.S. Army. Now his current assignment at
Redstone Arsenal, is the Chief of Staff position for the
U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces
Strategic Command (USASMDC/ARSTRAT). He is married and
has 2 sons.
