The Athens Christmas Open House sponsored by Athens Limestone
Chamber of Commerce and the Spirit of Athens was full of
shoppers on Saturday.
Several merchants mentioned this had been the best Christmas
Open House in a long time. Families were seen riding in the exquisite white buggy
being pulled by the big beautiful white horse
throughout town.
Little ones were upstairs in the Center for Lifelong Learning
having their photo made with Santa while their parents were
viewing and learning about the classes the Center offers.
Brian Campbell was the winner of
the T-Shirt contest, receiving VISA gift card.
The Center for Lifelong Learning has
the winning design printed on a T-Shirt. It's a big flopped
eared dog wearing a red Christmas hat and holding a huge white
bone that reads, "There really isn't a Naughty List,
is there?" for sale in the bookstore.
Amy Abernathy won the Ribbon
Wreath given away by the Center for Lifelong Learning.
Maggie Dell
won the gummy ear-buds, journal and Athens bear given away by
the Athens Shop (bookstore).
Jan Ligan won the gift package from Undergrounds Coffee
shop.I will update with the winner of the Grand Prize from Hobbs
Jewelers, an 18" 7mm Pearl necklace when the
