On Nov. 6, 2011 A.Skate held a Clinic at Insanity Skate Park in Madison Al.
Local Skate boarders showed up to assist youngsters with Autism who wanted to learn to skateboard.

In these photos is Matt Todd of Huntsville, Alabama. Matt owned 4Motion Skateboard Shop  in Athens AL. from 2003-2007. He has ridden a skateboard for 30 of his 34 years and continues to skate at the city skate park in Huntsville regularly.

The A. Skate Foundation gives children with autism the opportunity to build confidence and social interaction skills through skateboarding.  The foundation hosts clinics, and grants skateboarding equipment, to children with autism, at no charge to the families.  The foundation is run by volunteers and relies on donations and fundraising to continue the programs.  Skateboarding is a wonderful way for the children to interact because it doesn’t require a lot of verbal communication, there aren’t a lot of complex rules, you can be an individual and it is tons of fun!

A. Skate Foundation is always looking for volunteers and is currently in the running for a Pepsi Refresh Grant. Supporters have an opportunity to win an amazing Skate Trip to L.A. For more information about the organization check out the A Skate Foundation site at: http://www.askate.org

Thanks to all who showed up! It was truly a great time!
