ALH Nursing Manager Honored by Soldier

SGM Stan Thompson presented Beverly Scott, Nursing Manager at Athens-Limestone Hospital with a framed certificate of recognition and thanked her for being a “Patriotic Employer” on behalf of her employee, Dora Massey, and husband Sgt. Brandon Massey.  Although Beverly was overwhelmed and honored, she maintains that she was only doing what she would hope her employer would do for her if she was in the same position.  Beverly said, “What little I have done to try and help out, pales in comparison to the sacrifices Dora, Sgt. Massey, and so many other families and their soldiers have made.”

Kelli Powers, CEO of Athens-Limestone Hospital, said, “ I am very proud of Beverly for receiving this award. She deserves it for caring and working with all of her employees. We strive at Athens-Limestone Hospital to do the right thing and we treat our employees as family.”

Retired SGM Stan Thompson with Government Agency Support Services, received the letter from the husband of an Athens-Limestone Hospital employee regarding the care & friendship given to his wife at her job while he is serving in the Army. The letter reads as follows:

I would like to recognize my wife’s employer/supervisor.  She has gone beyond expectations, has always been supportive of my military duty   and has allowed my wife to be off from work event at short notice.  During my absence on a tour in Iraq, she frequently checked on my wife and also asked about my well being.  It was a great comfort knowing my wife was supported in her work place and never felt pressured to place work ahead of her soldier or her family.  Thank you for all your hard work and efforts to support a local soldier and The United States Army.

Sgt. Brandon Massey
