HEALTH, HOPE AND HEALING AROUND THE SQUARE
“Health, Hope and Healing Around the Square” was held on Wednesday, May 11th, by Athens-Limestone Hospital, Athens State University and United Way. Area healthcare providers and community service agencies also provided resources for the event.
Hospital staff offered free screenings for blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, and body fat analysis in the Center for Lifelong Learning. Dieticians and doctors explained a course of lifestyle changes and meal tips to assist in lowering your cholesterol, blood pressure and weight for those with questionable numbers.
Dr. David Morgan was available offering blood testing for prostate cancer. Dr. Pitman's staff was on hand to discuss women's health problems and offered information on hysterectomy, urinary incontinence and other related health concerns.
There were advisors who set up from all different healthcare professions to inform the public about their area of expertise and discuss with them their health problems.
