About Us
AthensPlus was designed to be a part of the local community of Athens
Alabama by providing an easy to navigate website with links of local
interest. The site became active in 2002 with a small directory of
local businesses and has grown rapidly since that date.
Today, we
have one of the largest local directories for area news,
community events, photo galleries and expanded business directories for
viewers. A weekly e-newsletter is emailed to over 3000 businesses,
residents and organizations informing of the previous week's events and
the up-coming activities along with featured real estate ads and
newsletter sponsors.
Quick
links to Churches, Schools, Medical assistance, weather, government
offices, even the movies, are found at the top of each directory for the
viewer’s convenience and easy navigation.
In
addition to the local news and information we work with local businesses
to showcase their business online. With custom landing pages for
individual companies we have been able to give additional exposure to
these companies at a fraction of the cost of traditional advertising.
