Prayer Breakfast

 

The Athens Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast will be Wednesday, April 18, at 7:30 a.m. at the Beasley Center at the corner of Marion and Pryor streets.

 

This breakfast is a fundraiser for the Arrowhead District of the Boy Scouts, which includes Athens and Limestone County. There are 17 troops in Limestone County, and those Cub Packs and Boy Scout troops serve nearly 400 boys.

 

The Boy Scouts will honor Talbot and Michelle Elkins for their efforts on meningitis awareness and local first responders for their efforts during the April 27, 2011, and March 2, 2012, tornadoes.

 

Athens State University President Bob Glenn will be the guest speaker, and Charlie Hughes will do a short storytelling segment.
