It was a Dog's Day at Saturday's HOPLC fundraiser event at
Roger's Portraits in Athens.
Roger Bedingfield has taken special portraits for over 30
years in the same location on Washington Street, but Saturday is
for even more special, it was for a great cause.
HOPLC stands for "Helping Our Pets in Limestone County
and is a non-profit organization. They are dedicated to
help feed, vaccinate, spay or neuter and medical care for our
local animals in need, while assisting their owners who have
limited funds.
The organization has service dogs, like
the German Shepherd, Taka, and the small blonde Border Collie
mix, Daisy, photographed above in the slide show. Other
functions the dogs provide are as reader dogs, no they don't
read, but children read to them. This is to encourage the
interest of children to read more and to aloud.
HOPLC accepts monetary donations on
their
website so they can care for the medical and daily needs of
Limestone County pets. They will purchase feed and assist with
medical services for those who qualify for their help.
You can contact HOPLC at their website
www.hoplc.com/ or on
FaceBook, LinkedIn or Twitter.
