Alabama Mountain Lakes Association held
their 2012 North Alabama Legislative Prayer Breakfast on Monday
January 23rd at the Sykes Building in Decatur,
Alabama. The annual breakfast is held to offer a blessing on the
local Senators, Representatives and Mayors to make sound
judgments, rational decisions for our communities and remain
safe in their travels and a blessing on their families.
Dana Lee Jennings, President and CEO of
AMLA gave the opening greeting and recalled a statement her dad
would say after a contentious morning at Church with her & her
Mom, ”she said Dad would comment “we got a full load today,” and
Dana Lee reiterated that is what we will receive today.”
Bart Williams, Chairman of the Board of
Directors welcomed the crowd of guest and introduced each
legislative represented.
Mo Brooks spoke, giving gracious words for
the works of AMLA. He pointed out on Tourism in the US; the
amount of legal foreigners entering the US is 150 million
annually with the majority being tourist, and our North Alabama
area has a lot we can offer to these people.
Ron Simmons, Organist and Choirmaster at
Westminister Presbyterian Church in Decatur play a beautiful
arrangement of “Peace in the Valley” as well as other melodies
during the event.
The keynote speaker, Dr. Oscar Montgomery
of Union Hill Primitive Baptist Church in Huntsville, gave an
encouraging and inspirational talk to everyone saying “God has
placed us all in the unique capacity we are in today for this
time and where God guides – he indeed provides.”
